Easy Italian-Style Sloppy Joes
Seasoned, sauced ground beef on a bun makes such a great, quick weekday meal that there’s only one way to top these Easy Italian-Style Sloppy Joes: with cheese. The recipe for the beef mixture comes together quickly in one pan and is piled high on soft rolls before being topped with a sprinkle or a slice of cheese. The heat from the meat mixture melts the cheese just enough to make every bite of these Italian-style sloppy joes gooey and delicious—the ideal comfort food. You can also serve the high-protein beef mixture in tacos, over pasta, or use it to make a new spin on stuffed peppers.
- Season the beef with salt and pepper. Cook the beef in a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat until browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.
- Stir in the sauce, Worcestershire, garlic powder and onion powder and cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Divide the beef mixture among the buns. Top with the cheese and serve hot.
