Gourmet Garlic Herb Mac & Cheese
This creamy mac and cheese gets an instant gourmet upgrade from Campbell’s Garlic Parmesan with Herbs Soup. Finished with buttery toasted breadcrumbs for irresistible texture and flavour.
Directions
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8 minutes; drain.
- Return the pot to medium heat and whisk together the condensed soup and milk until smooth and bubbling.
- Reduce the heat to low; stir in the shredded Havarti until melted and creamy. Add crushed red pepper if desired. Fold the pasta into the sauce until well coated; keep warm over low heat.
- Meanwhile, in a small skillet melt the butter with the oil over medium heat. Add the breadcrumbs and toast until golden, about 2 minutes.
- Spoon mac and cheese into bowls, top with toasted breadcrumbs and parsley; serve immediately.
Recipe Tips
For extra flavour and texture, stir in cooked chicken, ground beef, or bacon.
For extra richness, substitute half-and-half for the milk.
Add sautéed mushrooms or spinach for a hearty variation.
