Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos

Place chicken breasts and just 3 ingredients in your slow cooker - then set it and forget it! Slow cooking not only infuses the chicken with fabulous flavour, it makes the chicken so moist and tender it practically falls apart. The end result - taco filling that's so succulent you don't even need toppings!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb (681 g) boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) ground cumin
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) chili powder
  • 2 cups (500 mL) PACE® Chunky Mild Salsa
  • 12 flour tortilla (6-inch), warmed

Directions

  1. Season the chicken with the cumin and chili powder. Place the chicken into a 6-quart slow cooker. Pour the salsa over the chicken. 
  2. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or until the chicken is fork-tender. Remove the chicken to a work surface. Using 2 forks, shred the chicken. Serve the chicken in the tortillas. 

Recipe tips

  • Top with your favorite taco toppings like shredded lettuce, sour cream and additional salsa.
  • Try a squeeze of fresh lime juice, too!
