  1. Cook beef in heated oil in large skillet until golden brown. Add carrot, celery and onion and continue to cook for 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in garlic, pepper, parsley, V8 V-Plus®, broth, tomato paste and salt.
  3. Heat to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve immediately over pasta. Sprinkle with chopped fresh herbs, if desired.

Recipe Tips

During the gentle heat of simmering, you can see the liquid slowly bubbling at the surface rather than rapidly moving as in a full boil. Simmering helps meat to stay more tender while the sauce ingredients cook and flavours blend.
